2024 NAMI Walk & 5K for Wellness

                           

Join us for NAMI’s 17^th Annual Walk and 5K for Wellness. This event is a fundraiser to benefit free mental health support services offered by NAMI Wayne and Holmes Counties. We encourage you joining us in person and bringing along family, coworkers, and friends, but virtual participation is an option too!

How to Participate:

1. Register here on our page. Each person that registers before April 4th will get a free t-shirt! 
2. Choose to attend in-person at the Secrest Welcome and Education Center (OSU Wooster Campus) or plan to walk or run at a location of your choosing.
3. Make it fun! Raise money and awareness for mental health recovery programs. 
   • Host a party or raffle (in-person or virtual).
   • Offer a contest on your social media.
   • Ask your friends and family to support you.
   • Be creative and bring your spirit!
   • Contact NAMI for more ideas.
4. Take pictures or videos of your participation and post to your social media with #Nami5kwalk. If you want, you can also post your route and your finish time. We can't wait to see what you do!

What participants get with registration: 

• Food and refreshments at the event
• Opportunity to win Door Prizes (you do not need to be present to win!)
• Opportunity to Compete for Awards (below)

Awards:

1. Cash Prizes for 5K (top 3 male and top 3 female): 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50.
2. Largest Team (be sure to use the same "Team Name" when registering).
3. Top 3 Fundraising Teams will receive our traveling gold, silver, and bronze trophies.
4. Most Decorated Team - Prize TBD
5. Virtual Participant farthest from the 44691 zip code will receive a gift unique to our corner of the world.

Welcome Chris and Steve Matthew: 2024 Honorary Chairs

NAMI is glad to have Chris and Steve Matthew as the 2024 Honorary Chairs for the Walk and 5K for Wellness.

Steve and Chris share a passion and love for Wooster and Wayne County.  Having raised three children in Wooster and being very involved in the community the are happy to be named the Honorary Chairs for the Walk & 5K for Wellness.

Steve is a business owner and has served on countless nonprofit and for-profit boards.  Chris has taught and coached swimming at Wooster City Schools for over 30 years.  Being an educator, Chris sees firsthand the need to support NAMI's services.  You are invited to run or walk with them as they support NAMI's mission to provide community members with hope, recovery, wellness, and freedom from stigma.
