Time to show our kids what us adults already know...Running is FUN!!! Back for its 12th year, Mid Ohio Race Management and the Wooster Running Club are excited to offer this summer running camp for kids ages 5-12 which will prepare them to run and finish a 5k on July 27 while teaching them proper warm-up, form, cool down, and more. The camp will run for 5 weeks and will be held each Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at The open field East of Kean Elementary in Wooster, OH. There will be plenty of experienced coaches on hand to guide your little runner to their goal while making it fun. Each session will have the same format: Dynamic warm-up, workout, fun group activity, proper cool down, and SNACK!
Specific dates for the Camp are:
June: 18, 20, 25, 27
1 Mile Race: June 29 at Ashland Balloonfest!
July: 2, 9, 11, 16, 18, 25
Cost of the Camp will be $85 for each child with special family pricing available ($160 for 2 children, $235 for 3 children from the same family), and will include the 10 practice sessions with coaches, a camp Tech shirt ($25 value), a $10 Fleet Feet Gift Card ($10 value), entry to the 1 Mile on June 29 ($30 value), entry to the 5k on July 27 ($30 value), all snacks and activities, and tons of fun/experience for the little runner in your family! The activities at the camp will be brought to us by Camp Nuhop, and are professionally crafted to keep our children moving!
During all of the runs & races during the session, our coaches will be running with the kids to help them reach their goal while keeping them safe out on the course.
Due to limited space at the camp venue while keeping a low camper to Staff ratio, there will be a 125 kid cap placed on registration, so sign up soon to secure your spot. The camp has grown from 30 participants in 2013 to nearly 150 kids each of the past few years and we are sure it will be an overstuffed field again in 2024! This will be a camp you will not want to miss, so don't risk being left out, register now!
