2026 Raccoon Run Information & Registration

7:45 a.m. 5k Raccoon Run

8:00 a.m. One-Mile Fun Run

Walkers, joggers, and runners of all ages will take to the streets of Lakeside on Sunday, July 26 for the 46th Annual 5k Raccoon Run and One-Mile Fun Run. Light refreshments for all racers will be provided at the finish line. Awards will be given immediately following the race on the steps of Hoover Auditorium. 

Registration includes chip timing, chance at age group finisher’s awards for the 5k, as well as a commemorative T-shirt for both 5k & One-Mile Fun Run. 

The Bob Brucken Honorary Award

The Bob Brucken Honorary Award will be given each year to the oldest participant finishing the Lakeside Raccoon Run. The award, named after longtime Lakesider Bob Brucken is in recognition of his leadership in promoting Lakeside’s Annual 5k. Bob has run the race since the inception of the race, earning medals several times. In fact, some years, Bob finished the race pushing a neighbor in a wheelchair! Bob can be seen jogging the Lakeside streets and nature trail all summer, often times with members of his family trailing alongside. His love of running, the Raccoon Run, and Lakeside is contagious. Lakeside Chautauqua is privileged to honor Bob Brucken with this new Raccoon Run tradition during our 150th Anniversary year. 

Admission and  Parking Fees are not included in this registration.  A Complimentary Recreation Event Pass is available from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. on the day of the event for registrants only and can be obtained at the 5th Street and South Street gates only.  This pass does not allow entry into the Grindley Aquatics and Wellness Campus Pool or Entertainment in Hoover Auditorium. 5k Race Course  - Around the perimeter of Lakeside, turns are clearly marked

• Start: Orchestra Hall, corner of Second Street & Walnut Avenue
• Finish: Third Street at Hoover Auditorium

One Mile Fun Run Course - Flat terrain along Second and Third Street

• Start: Lakeside Laundromat, corner of Second Street and Sycamore Avenue
• Finish: Third Street at Hoover Auditorium

Registration Details                                                               

• 5k Registration: $35 includes T-shirt.
• One-Mile Fun Run: $15 includes T-shirt.
• Group Registration: $25 for Athletic teams and includes T-shirt. Please email tbarger@lakesideohio.com for more Group or Team information 
• Please note: T-shirts sizes are not guaranteed for Registrations after July 5, 2026.
• Online registration will close 5 p.m., Saturday, July 25.
• Last day to register, early check-in and T-shirt pick up Saturday, July 25 from 5-8pm on Hoover Porch.

• Day Of Race: Check in (only) between 7-7:30 a.m. in Hoover Auditorium Lobby, 115 W Third St., Lakeside, OH 43440.

  • Trophy for 1^st Place Overall in the Men’s and Women’s divisions
  • 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Place in each of the Men’s and Women’s age divisions
  • Bob Brucken Honorary Award
