5K Run/Walk at 8:45 am

Fun Walk at 9:00 am (Approx. 1 mile)

Get ready for an unforgettable day of community, support, and wellness at NAMI's 18th Annual Walk and 5K for Wellness!  This exciting event is not only a fun way to get active, but it's also a powerful fundraiser benefitting free mental health support services in Wayne and Holmes counties.  Whether you're walking in person with your family, friends, and coworkers, or joining virtually from anywhere, your participation will help provide crucial resources to those in need.  So, lace up your sneakers, bring your energy, and let's come together to make a lasting impact.  Let's walk, run, and support those in mental health recovery - together we can make a difference!

Registration includes: professionally timed event, chance at top finisher awards for the 5K, commemorative t-shirt (must be registered by April 3, 2026).  We will have numerous raffle baskets (must be present to win) and our famous quilt raffle (do not need to be present to win)!

How to Participate:

  1. Register here on our page. Each person that registers before April 3rd will receive a free t-shirt!
  2. Choose to attend in-person at the Secrest Welcome and Education Center (OSU Wooster Campus) or plan to walk or run at a location of your choosing.
  3. Make it fun! Raise money and awareness for mental health recovery programs. We encourage you to team up with friends, family and co-workers and enjoy your morning with us!  Ways to raise money for a chance to win one of our coveted "Traveling Shoes" and, of course, additional bragging rights:
    • Host a party or raffle (in-person or virtual).
    • Offer a contest on your social media.
    • Ask your friends and family to support you.
    • Be creative and bring your spirit!
    • Contact NAMI for more ideas.
  4. Take pictures or videos of your participation and post to your social media with #Nami5kwalk. If you want, you can also post your route and your finish time. We can't wait to see what you do!

Awards:

  1. Cash Prizes for 5K (top 3 male and top 3 female): 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50..
  2. Top 3 Fundraising Teams.  They will receive the coveted traveling gold, silver, and bronze trophies.
  3. Best Decorated Team attending the event.  Show us your spirit and come in costume! We love seeing what our teams come up with each year.  It is not necessary, but certainly adds to the fun.
  4. Most Spirited Virtual Team. In celebration of the several teams that walk their work campus, or local park, before or after the timed event, we created this award just for you! Show us your spirit!

Welcome Scott and Susan Boyes: 2026 Honorary Chairs

Scott and Susan Boyes invite you to join them on May 2, 2026, for the NAMI Walk and 5K for Wellness.  We want hundreds of commuity members to come and run or walk the 5K course with us!  This event is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and proceeds from this event help to provide vital mental health resources to Wayne and Holmes County residents, making a positive impact in our communities.

Scott and Susan are lifelong Wayne County residents who have shared 40 years of marriage rooted in family, service, and community.  Together, they raised three children and are now proud grandparents of four, embracing each stage of life with deep commitment and care for others.  A Triway High School graduate and registered nurse, Susan devoted much of her adult life to being a stay-at-home mother while also giving generously of her time through church youth ministry and her current volunteer work with Breakaway in the Green Local School District.  Scott, a Northwestern High School graduate, has dedicated much of his professional career to Wooster Community Hospital, where he serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, leading a team focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care.  United by their faith and years of service, Scott and Susan share a steadfast belief in caring for the whole person - mind, body, and spirit - and in strengthening the community they have long called home.  With your support in NAMI's Walk and 5K for Wellness, you are helping the Boyes with this important work.
