8th Annual JPM 5k & Musik Festival (+ Family Fun Walk)

Event Details:

The 8th annual JPM 5k & Musik Festival (+ Family Fun Walk!) is headed back to Apple Creek, OH in 2021!

UPDATED INFORMATION: In light of the waning pandemic mandates, we are making major changes to this year's 5k & Musik Fest. 

Last year we made some necessary "social distancing" adjustments due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and the corresponding statewide mandates. We had hoped to be back to business-as-usual for 2021, but it does not seem as though that would be wise or beneficial, after all. We will be running this year's event with the same "social distancing" adjustments in place. Our main goal is to have a safe and enjoyable community event, and we do not want to do anything that would jeopardize that goal. 

Social distancing measures include:

• No-contact packet pick-up
• Stagger start (groups of roughly ten people released every 30 seconds)
• The mid-course water station will offer bottles of water instead of cups
• No-contact post-race food pick-up (we are currently looking at getting fresh-cooked post-race food again)
• BOCO souvenir "JPM" face mask (this was a big hit last year, and masks have not gone away thus far, so we are going with a brand new design for 2021) (we are replacing the BOCO face mask with a BOCO hat!)
• "Virtual Run" option available at registration
• Musik Fest portion will be eliminated, but registrants will be the first to receive a brand new Taylor's Playground Recording Studio compilation CD (we are once again providing the post-race Musik Fest, featuring live music from Polen Band!)

These social distancing measures are being put in place to ensure the safety of the participants, as well as to ensure that the event is able to happen. *In the case that the event has to be canceled, beyond our control, all registrations will be transferred to "Virtual Run Registrations".

4:30pm-5:45pm:  Packet pick up

5:30pm:  Family Fun Walk Start

6:00pm:  JPM 5k Race Start

6:40pm: POLEN BAND concert starts

7:00pm:  Awards and Prizes

7:15pm: POLEN BAND concert continues

8:00pm: EVENT ENDS (with plenty of time for you to get to the Mt. Eaton fireworks!)

Pricing:

5k Standard Registration, includes Family Fun Walk = $35.00

Family Fun Walk Registration = $25.00

Virtual Run Registration = $35.00

Included in Standard Registration:

5k registrations will include chip timing, and ALL registrations will include custom race shirt, post race food and drink, and a goodie bag filled with all kinds of awesomeness, including a BOCO souvenir "JPM" face mask hat and Taylor's Playground Recording Studio compilation CD!

Included in Virtual Run Registration:

The JPM custom race shirt and goodie bag contents, including a BOCO souvenir "JPM" face mask hat and Taylor's Playground Recording Studio compilation CD, will be physically mailed to you. 

Prizes:

The top Male and Female finishers in the 5k will each be awarded a $100 gift card to Vertical Runner of Wooster. ("Virtual Run" participants are not eligible for prizes.)

There will also be four "Match My Run" prizes on the course ($25 gift card to Vertical Runner of Wooster), which will be awarded to the runners who are closest to Jeff's four virtual runs.

*INTRODUCING THE "JPM 5K & MUSIK FEST (HONORARY) BAND"* Top Male and Top Female 5k Finishers will each win a guitar! The four "Match My Run" winners will also receive one musical instrument each  (keyboard, microphone, snare drum, and cowbell). Winners must be present to collect their prize so they can gather on the stage for an epic lip sync of "We Are the Champions" and photo opportunity.
