The 14th Annual Fuzzy Fandango Trail Races

The 14th Annual Fuzzy Fandango is a trail running extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, November 11th, 2023.  The event will encourage runners, walkers, and sloggers of all abilities to enjoy the astounding Mohican Region by exploring a great network of trails.  In true Fuzzy fashion, we have designed a new route for your running pleasure. Imagine this, the new route includes well . . . some great hills! Really . . . aren't hills great!!!

Due to space and parking considerations, all race distances will be limited to less than 150 runners.

About the Fuzzy:

The Fuzzy Fandango Supports Nuhop, a residential summer camp for kiddos with special needs as well as outdoor education programming for school districts.

The race start and finish is on Camp Nuhop’s Main Property. To enhance The Fuzzy experience we will have a local beer for all finishers supplied by The Phoenix Brewing Company from Mansfield, Ohio.

For those wishing to make a weekend out of the experience, we will have a block of rooms at Mohican Resort and Conference Center listed under the Fuzzy Fandango.  The start line of The Fuzzy is within easy walking distance of Mohican Resort.

This will be an adventure away from ordinary running for some and just another day in the park for others but a great time for everyone!

Packet Pickup: 

Early packet Pickup will take place on Friday, November 10th from 3:00p-7:00p at Fleet Feet - Wooster (148 W. Liberty St., Wooster, OH)

ALL race packets can also be picked up at Camp Nuhop on race morning.  Due to our touchless packet pickup plan, the schedule will be as follows:

50k packets - Pickup between 6:30am-7:15am

25k packets - Pickup between 7:00am - 7:45am

9 mi packets - Pickup between 7:30am - 8:15am

5k packets - Pickup between 8:00am - 8:45am

1 mi packets - Pickup between 9:30am - 10:15am

Race Start times:

50K Race Start @ 7:30am 

25K Race Start @ 8:00 am

9 M Race Start @ 8:30 am

5 K  Race Start @ 9:00 am

1 M Fun Run @ 10:30 am

Parking:

Parking for the 50/ 25K distances will be outside the main gate in the field before Nuhop's main gate. Use directions for Nuhop above!

25K/ 9M and Fun Run parking will be at Mohican Resort and Conference Center.  A short .25 mile walk to the main property!

Overflow parking will be at our beach property and will be a short .5 mile walk to the main property!

Included in Registration:

With the Fuzzy Fandango Registration participants will receive:

• Either A long sleeved tech shirt or a Winter Hat (OR BOTH with upgraded registration)
• Chip Timing from Mid Ohio Race Management
• Post Race Food and Drink!

Prizes:

We will have awards for overall finishers in each category. Top 3 Female/Male for 5k, 9 Mile, 25k, 50k. No awards for age divisions

About the Course:

The course is comprised of a combination of trails ie. hiking trails, horse trails, mountain bike trails, and forest service roads. Part of the course will bring you onto private property. For the 50 K runners (Double Loop), we will have up to 1.5 miles of road per loop.  We will provide maps of the course when they are official.  Currently, the plan is to use private property and Mohican State Forest.  

DNF’s

Please, please, please let us know if you are a DNF!  We need your help so we are not looking all over the forest for you.  If you DNF, please go to the Mid Ohio Race Management Team and tell them about the DNF (near race finish).
